Rockford Gets Nearly 5 in. Of Rain, Chance For More Storms

The National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Rockford and surrounding areas on Monday, June 8.

ROCKFORD, IL — A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued by the National Weather Center in Chicago/Romeoville for Rockford following a wet weekend across the area that brought almost five inches of rain to the city, WREX reported. NWS says this Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois and Northwest Indiana, including Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, Lake and several other counties.

NWS says there's a chance for thunderstorms south of I-80 Monday afternoon with a chance for scattered storms across the area late Monday night, followed by a small wet weather and storm risk through Sunday.

Rainfall totals for Rockford following June 9 and June 10 thunderstorms were 4.68 inches, according to WREX.
