Rockford Man Wanted For Armed Robbery
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of this 24-year-old Rockford man on armed robbery charges.

ROCKFORD, IL — The Rockford Police Department is searching for a male suspect wanted in connection to two armed robberies officers said happened within the last week. Detectives from the Rockford Police Department's Violent Crime Unit began an investigation into the two recent incidents and have identified the suspect as 24-year-old Janathan Turner. According to police, detectives are investigating Turner's possible responsibility for other robbery incidents.
According to the department, Rockford police officers responded to Boost Mobile, 3201 Auburn Street, just before 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, for an armed robbery report. Officers learned the male suspect had a handgun and robbed the business of money before leaving the scene, RPD said.
Shortly after, RPD said officers were called to S&H Tobacco, 2744 11th Street, at 7:20 p.m. for another armed robbery report. That's where officers learned the suspect came inside, pointed a gun at an employee and demanded money before leaving, officials said.

Police said no one was hurt during either robbery incident.

Authorities obtained a warrant for Turner's arrest on Dec. 13 from the Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office, on two counts of armed robbery. Turner's bond is set at $250,000 and he remains at large.
