Rockford Resident Surprised with $5,000 Scholarship to WGU

Rockford resident Peggy Powell was recently surprised with a $5,000 Linda Knodel Leaders in Nursing and Health Scholarship to Western Governors University. This scholarship is awarded quarterly to a new MSN or health leadership student at WGU who exemplifies spirit and commitment to nursing leadership.

Powell, a nurse manager at Rockford Ambulatory Surgery Center, was presented with the scholarship on Oct. 10 by Christy Seawall, WGU Strategic Partnerships Manager, Chicago. Powell graduated with her BSN from WGU in August and is now pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing – Leadership and Management from the online, nonprofit university.
