Jordan Mathos was awarded a $2,500 Alumni Masters Scholarship to the fully online, nonprofit university

Rockford resident Jordan Mathos was recently surprised with a $2,500 Alumni Masters Scholarship to Western Governors University. The scholarship is open to WGU alums who are interested in pursuing a master's degree through the online, nonprofit university.

Mathos, a special education teacher at Harlem High School, is pursuing a Master of Education in Instructional Design from WGU. He was virtually presented with the scholarship on March 26 by WGU Strategic Partnerships Manager Jim Chandler.
