Rockford Residents Surprised with Scholarships to WGU
Erik Erikson-Pierson and Kaleb Bermudez were awarded $2,500 Military Appreciation Scholarships to the fully online, nonprofit university
Rockford residents Erik Erikson-Pierson and Kaleb Bermudez were both recently surprised with $2,500 Military Appreciation Scholarships to Western Governors University. The scholarship is offered to active-duty military personnel, veterans and their spouses as an opportunity to advance their education.
Erikson-Pierson, a military veteran and teacher for Conklin Elementary in Rockford Public School District 205, is pursuing a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from WGU. He was virtually presented with the scholarship on December 4 by WGU Strategic Partnerships Manager Jim Chandler.
Bermudez, a National Guard reservist and support tech coordinator for SwedishAmerican Health System, is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Data Management and Analytics from WGU. He was virtually presented with the scholarship on December 21 by WGU Strategic Partnerships Manager Joe DeJohns.
