Rockford Woman Accused Of Shooting Teen In Legs During Dispute
Police said authorities located the suspect and a weapon after teen was shot in the legs Dec. 13 in Rockford.

ROCKFORD, IL — The Rockford Police Department said a woman was arrested and is facing battery charges after a 16-year-old male was shot in the legs Thursday night. Police said officers responded to the area of Arline Avenue and Richmond Street just after 11 p.m., Dec. 13, for a report of shots fired. According to police, when officers arrived to the scene they found the teen victim who had been shot in the legs during a domestic-related incident, and he was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
During a follow up investigation, the shooting suspect, 33-year-old Samantha Holt, was found a short distance away after taking off from the scene. Police said a weapon was also recovered.
According to police, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office approved charges of aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated domestic battery against Holt, who is being held at Winnebago County Jail with no bond.
