Severe Weather Alert For Rockford, Nearby Areas
Here's when to expect severe weather for Rockford and surrounding areas in northwest, north central Illinois.

ROCKFORD, IL — The National Weather Service for Chicago is reporting a risk for severe weather through Tuesday night in parts of northwest and north central Illinois, including Rockford. According to the most recent weather update, Rockford, Ottawa and Peoria are the main area that's at risk for isolated tornadoes.
According to NWS, the window for severe weather is from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. CDT, and also includes the chance for damaging winds and hail, for the areas mentioned above, in addition to DeKalb, Ottawa, Dixon and Rochelle.
Outside of the severe threat area, any storm on Tuesday will most likely create lightning that hits the ground and heavy rains capable of causing at least localized flooding.
