Spring Creek Elementary teachers make the grade
Local teachers serve students and families on McTeacher's Night to raise money for school activities.
Rockford |Thursday evening found teachers, parents, students and friends alike gathered in the glow under the golden arches while supporting local elementary school, Spring Creek Elementary McTeacher’s Night, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. This event offered community members a win-win situation whereby dining in the restaurant, a portion of proceeds would be donated to the school.
Teachers from Spring Creek Elementary School District 205 volunteered behind the counter on Thursday, October 18th, at the Rockford McDonald’s located at 3858 Northridge Drive, where they served students and their families in a fundraiser for Spring Creek Elementary.
Calvin Carlson and James Sati did an outstanding job selling pies to customers throughout the night. The proceeds from the pies went directly to benefit the students. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the McTeacher’s Night sales were donated directly to the Spring Creek PTO, which plans to use the money to help pay for new bleachers.
