Romeoville Waives Fees for Outdoor Restaurant Seating

Romeoville Offers Small Business Grant to Qualifying Community Businesses

Governor Pritzker has announced that outdoor seating will be allowed for restaurants that follow guidelines in Phase 3. The Village of Romeoville will be waiving permit and application fees up to $1,000 for those businesses who will be adding or expanding outdoor seating. No additional permits are needed for businesses that currently have outdoor seating and follow state guidelines for social distancing. More information is available here.

Additionally, the Village of Romeoville has created a Small Business Community Grant Program to provide assistance to the smallest and hardest hit businesses that are struggling during this time. $500 grants will be given to businesses who apply and meet qualifications, including those that had less than $500,000 in sales for the 2018 tax year.

“We are doing our best, as a municipality, to support our local businesses through this unprecedented time,” stated Mayor John Noak. “We encourage our residents to eat and shop locally whenever they can and together, we can keep our businesses open.”
