1 Dead, 2 Injured In I-57 Shooting On Far South Side
Illinois State Police are investigating a fatal shooting involving two cars on I-57 early Friday morning near Calumet Park.
CHICAGO — One person is dead and two others were injured when someone shot at two cars on I-57 early Friday morning, state police said.
The shooting happened on I-57 in the northbound lane near 119th Street near Calumet Park around 12:45 a.m., Trooper Elizabeth Clausing said in a statement. The shooting involved two vehicles.
Three men were hit by bullets in one of the vehicles were taken to a hospital. A man, age unknown, later died from his injuries. A woman in one of the cars was not injured.

All lanes of traffic were shut down during the night for the investigation. The expressway reopened at 6:15 a.m. for the morning rush hour, according to Illinois State Police.
The Cook County Medical Examiner has not released the name of the man who died. The ages of the others in the car have not been released.
