11-Year-Old Girl Caught In Crossfire Shot In Face At Gas Station
The girl was sitting in a car at a West Pullman gas station when someone began firing at 19-year-old who was also wounded, police said.
CHICAGO — An 11-year-old girl was shot in the face late Monday evening when she was caught in gun crossfire at a gas station in West Pullman. A 19-year-old man also suffered a gunshot wound in the groin area, Chicago police said.
Around 11 p.m. Monday, the girl, identified by WGN Ch. 9 news as Ny-Andrea Dyer, was sitting in the back seat of a car at a gas station on west 127th Street around when the shooting began. The 19-year-old man was leaving the gas station mini mart when police said the shooter, whom they described as a male black, began shooting.
Ny-Andrea was sitting in the backseat of her family’s car at the gas pump when she was struck in the face. She was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital where she is listed in extremely critical condition, WGN reported. Ny-Andrea’s family is asking for everyone’s prayers as she fights for her life and want anyone with information to come forward.

The 19-year-old man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Police believe the girl was not the intended target and that there was no relationship between the wounded.
A weapon was found in the 12600 block of South Wentworth Avenue. Area Two detectives are investigating.
