7-Month-Old Baby Boy Found Safe On South Side

A baby boy that was in a car when it was stolen Monday afternoon in Marquette Park has been found safe.

CHICAGO, IL — Chicago police had found a 7-month-old baby boy who was missing for several hours on Monday. The boy was in a running car while his mother ran into a store. When she returned, her car and the baby were gone.

The 30-year-old woman was inside a convenience store in the 2700 block of West 71st Street in Chicago’s Marquette Park neighborhood around 12:45 p.m. She left her 7-month-old boy inside the car while she ran into the store.

Police said when the mother came out, her car and baby were missing. The stolen vehicle was found around 2:40 p.m. in the 1400 block of S. Keeler Ave., but the baby was not inside the car.
