CHICAGO — ALDI is welcoming shoppers back to its renovated grocery store in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood Thursday, May 27. The store, at 1508 W. 47th St., will throw open its doors following a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:30 a.m.

The remodel is part of an ongoing effort to expand existing ALDI stores nationwide. The Back of the Yard is store will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The update store boasts an improved layout and ample refrigeration to accommodate an expanded fresh and convenience food selection. It also features open ceilings, natural lighting and is built with environmentally friendly materials for a streamlined shopping experience. Shoppers will notice the elevated design.

“ALDI continues to prioritize remodeling stores with one goal in mind: to provide the best grocery shopping experience,” Heather McCarthy said in a news release, the Valparaiso division vice president for ALDI. “We are excited for Chicago residents to see the updated location, specifically designed to make shopping even easier, but ALDI fans can rest assured that the high-quality products and unbeatable value ALDI provides will remain unchanged.”

A typical ALDI store offers approximately 12,000 square feet of retail space. ALDI stores are also optimized to provide the cleanest and safest shopping environment possible. Also, the retailer remains focused on ensuring stores are stocked with food and household essentials customers need, including healthy, convenient options and a robust selection of produce delivered fresh to stores daily.
