Calumet Heights Dogs Enjoying the Snow

CALUMET HEIGHTS, IL--Chicago dogs are built tough--even the little ones. Snickers, a 14-year-old Yorkie Mix and his brother, 13-year-old Yorkie Sonny Bear, did not let a few inches of snow deter their morning walk.

Although residential sidewalks had yet to be shoveled and salted, and the snow was almost as tall as them, they bravely trudged through the freshly fallen morning snow--dragging me with them.

And unlike many dogs you might see this time of year, Snickers and Sonny refuse to let anyone put coats or booties on them. They're South Side snow dogs and refuse to be denied their outdoor time!
