CHICAGO, IL - A car fire has traffic backed up for miles on Interstate 57 leading to the Dan Ryan Expressway. All five lanes of the Dan Ryan were blocked at 95th Street around 1 p.m. Monday after the fire, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation. Four of the five lanes were re-opened within 20 minutes.
Afternoon commuters who use I-57 North (Bishop Ford) or the Dan Ryan at its southernmost end might want to find other options.
