Cardboard Cutouts Of White Sox Fans Sell Out Quick
The stands at Guaranteed Rate Field on opening weekend will have cardboard cutouts of their fans' likenesses.

CHICAGO — It took less than 48 hours for the Chicago White Sox to sell out more than 1,500 cardboard cutouts of their fans' likenesses. The cutouts will be on display in the stands, filling the ballpark seats at Guaranteed Rate Field during the team's opening series against the Minnesota Twins from Friday, July 24 to Sunday, July 26.
Fans paid $49 beginning Wednesday to submit a photo of themselves and have their personal cutout created by the team. As of Friday all supplies had run out and the cutouts had sold out.
The team's "FANtastic Faces" initiative benefits Chicago White Sox charities, which since 1990 has donated more than $32 million to hundreds of Chicago-based non-profit organizations. This initiative alone raised more than $55,000 for White Sox charities, a team spokeswoman said.
