Chicago Police Officer Shot In Face Outside Station: Report

The shooting happened in the parking lot of Chicago's 6th District station, according to a report.

CHICAGO, IL — A Chicago police officer was shot in the face Sunday while standing in the 6th District station parking lot, according to a report by WGN. The station is located in the city's Gresham neighborhood.

The shooting happened Sunday afternoon near 78th & Halsted, WGN reported. The officer was taken to a hospital in Oak Lawn and was reported to be "doing OK."

Police are still investigating whether the officer was the intended target of the shooting or if they were hit by a stray bullet.
