Cooling Centers Open On Chicago's South Side

Find a way to beat the heat at these South Side Chicago cooling centers.

CHICAGO, IL - As the temperatures skyrocket to nearly three digits over Father's Day weekend, the Illinois Department of Human Services has set up more than 100 cooling centers around the state as part of the Keep Cool Illinois campaign. Many are located within the city of Chicago and several of those are on the South Side.

Here's where to go during the daytime hours to escape what could be dangerous temperatures over the weekend and any other time the mercury rises to this level later during the summer.

  • MIDSOUTH SATELLITE OFFICE: 4313 S. Ashland Ave.
  • ENGLEWOOD: 5323 S. Western Ave.
  • MID SOUTH: 1642 W. 59th St.
  • WOODLAWN: 915 E. 63rd St.
  • SOUTHEAST: 8001 S. Cottage Grove Ave.
  • ROSELAND: 11203 S. Ellis Ave.

Illinois Tollway locations are open as cooling centers 24/7.
