Firefighter Hurt on Christmas Morning

A Chicago firefighter was hurt in a Sunday morning blaze on the South Side.

CHICAGO, IL — A Chicago firefighter was taken to a local hospital after he was injured during a blaze on the South Side in the 2600 block of East 99th Street Sunday morning. The fire was reported at 7:10 a.m. in a two-story vacant home. The fire was put out by 9 a.m. The firefighter is in fair condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
