Flights Grounded At Midway Airport Due To Fog
The FAA initiated a "ground stop" at Midway Airport Thursday morning due to immense fog.

CHICAGO, IL - All flights were ordered to remain grounded at Midway Airport late Thursday morning due to foggy conditions in the area. The initial "ground stop" enacted by the Federal Aviation Administration was to last until noon, according to an announcement from Midway Airport on social media.
Some airlines began delaying and canceling flights in and out of the airport about an hour before the ground stop was called. There were a total of 193 cancellations made at the airport on Thursday as of 1:25 p.m. , according to FlyChicago.com.
Due to dense fog in the Chicago area, @FAANews has imposed a ground stop at MDW until noon. Please check flight status with carrier.

At least one traveler was reporting that the shutdown was still in effect after 12:30 p.m.

Midway hasn't updated the current situation since.
Delays were also reported at O'Hare due to fog on Thursday.
