Man Fatally Shot Near Midway Airport

Chicago police are investigating a fatal shooting in which an unidentified man was shot multiple times on Sunday morning.

CHICAGO — A man was shot Sunday morning while standing outside in Chicago’s Vittum Park neighborhood near Midway Airport.

Around 9 a.m., Chicago police were called to the 5500 block of South Archer Avenue. An unidentified man estimated to be between the ages of 17 and 20 years, had been shot multiple times, police said.

According to police, the shooter or shooters fled the scene and currently no one is in custody. The man suffered gunshot wounds to the back and shoulder. CFD transported the man to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The man was not identified as of Sunday.
