Rail Repairs Will Close 111th Street In Pullman For A Week
The rail crossing at 111th and Ellis will be closed from Oct. 22 until Oct. 27 for upgrades to the crossing.

CHICAGO – The rail crossing on 111th Street just west of Ellis Avenue in the city's Pullman neighborhood is expected to close for a full week later this month as repairs are made.
The Norfolk Southern Railroad crossing at that location will be closed from 9 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 22 through the end of the business week on Friday, Oct. 27, according to a news release from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Detours will be in place that take motorists around the closure via Doty Avenue, Woodlawn Avenue, 103rd Street and Cottage Grove Avenue. Drivers who use 111th Street in this area should allow extra time this week and are urged to pay close attention to detour signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
