UPDATE: Water Main Break On I-55: ALL LANES ARE OPEN
IDOT reports that all lanes are open on I-55 Stevenson Expressway between Pulaski and California after a water main break.
CHICAGO — UPDATE: All lanes are open. The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Monday morning that the right lane and shoulder on the inbound Stevenson Expressway (Interstate 55), from just past Pulaski Road to California Avenue, in Chicago, are closed as a result of a water main break.
The left two lanes and the ramps are open. The water main is owned by the City of Chicago and is working on repairs. Updates will be provided when all lanes are reopened.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
