Thank you We Honor You, Honoring our first responders in (Auburn Gresham, Avalon Park, Chatham, Greater Grand Crossing

The Executive Director of the Greater Chatham Initiative, (GCI), Nedra Sims Fears sends a special thank you to all our neighbors who joined us for our inaugural ‘We Honor You” event on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, 2018 in Brown Memorial Park. Approximately 50 participants joined in the celebration. Special thanks to Alderman Roderick T. Sawyer 6th Ward Alderman, Ghian Foreman, President, Chicago Police Board, Carl Lewis, President, Brown Park Advisory Board, Ora Jackson, Brown Park Advisory Board Member, Darlene Tribue, GCI, Board Member, Principal Grady and the students at Pirie School who tied blue ribbons around trees in the park, our volunteers, Lori, Phil, and a host of others. A very special thank you to our first responders from the Police, Fire & Paramedics who came out to join us. This is what community is all about.
