Woman Forced Into Alley And Sexually Assaulted In South Chicago

The assault occurred at 10:30 p.m. Sunday in the 8200 block of south Escanaba Avenue on Chicago's South Side.

CHICAGO, IL — A man in the South Chicago neighborhood ran down a woman and sexually assaulted her in an alley around 10:30 p.m. Sunday night in the 8200 block of south Escanaba Avenue in South Chicago, according to the Chicago Police Department. Police in issued an alert Monday evening which said the victim was walking down the street when she noticed an unknown black man following her. She then "became afraid and attempted to run away," police said.

The man is described as between five feet, six inches and five feet, nine inches tall. He has a medium brown complexion with a beard and was wearing a blue hoodie, blue jogging pants and a Chicago Bulls baseball cap, according to police.

The man eventually caught the victim and forced her into the alley where she was sexually assaulted, police said.
