10 Years of Stepping Springfield Stairs for Air

Launch Party Kicks Off Milestone Fight For Air Climb

Training, team building and fundraising kicks off for the 10th anniversary of the Fight For Air Climb at Wyndham Springfield City Center next week. The American Lung Association in Illinois announced today that the official 2019 Fight For Air Climb Launch Party is on Wednesday, October 24 from 5-7 p.m. at Fox Run Restaurant & Lounge in Springfield.

The Fight For Air Climb, set for March 24, 2019, attracts thousands of Illinois residents who race up the stairs of Wyndham Springfield City Centre (32 floors, 532 steps) in an effort to raise awareness and money to fight lung disease. The launch party next week includes light refreshments, a limited edition T-shirt for the first 10 people who register for the Fight For Air Climb, a raffle of a FitClub training package and more.

“We are honored to celebrate our 10th year of the Fight For Air Climb here in Springfield, where our community has truly shown how they can come together to help the millions of people in our state who suffer from lung disease,” said Monica Guerrant, development manager for the Lung Association. “This year we will celebrate this huge milestone with many festivities, starting with the launch party next week. We ask for the Springfield community, including our climbers, volunteers and supporters, to bring their friends and family to join us for the celebration.”
