District 212 hosts Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day

Staff members are encouraged to bring their children to school so they can see their parents at work, and have a first-person, hands-on experience in a real workplace environment. Leyden’s special guests also will be treated to lunch that day.

Leyden’s reason for participating in the event is in line with a statement posted on the Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Foundation’s website: “Who do you count on? You may look to friends, teammates, family, mentors and teachers to not let you down. And in return, they can count on you to do the same for them! Being part of a workplace team also involves accepting responsibilities. When each team member acts responsibly, it makes the workplace more successful.”

The district has been a participant in the national event for more than a decade.

Leyden staff members are encouraged to bring their daughters and sons to work on April 26.
