IPHCA Congratulates New Illinois House Speaker Chris Welch

The Illinois Primary Health Care Association salutes Illinois' newest legislative leader for fighting for quality, affordable health care.

SPRINGFIELD -- As reaction rolls in from around the state, one prominent health care organization believes new Illinois House Speaker Chris Welch will make quality, affordable care for all a top priority.

“The Illinois Primary Health Care Association (IPHCA) congratulates Representative Emanuel "Chris" Welch on his historic election as Speaker of the Illinois House,” said Cyrus Winnett, Interim President & CEO. “This transition in leadership makes Speaker Welch the first member of the Illinois Legislative Black Caucus to hold the position, marking a new era for the Statehouse. IPHCA looks forward to working with Speaker Welch to further our mission of ensuring high-quality, affordable health care is available to every resident of our state, regardless of their insurance status, ability to pay, or zip code.”
