Murphy, Experts Hosting College Admissions & Financial Aid Event
State Rep. Mike Murphy is hosting a free seminar to learn about the college admissions process and how the financing process works on Feb. 4

SPRINGFIELD – State Representative Mike Murphy (R-Springfield) is partnering with experts from the University of Illinois System to host a free seminar for families and students to learn about the college admissions process and how the financing process works. The seminar is open to all and will take place at the University of Illinois Springfield on Tuesday, February 4 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
“Whether you’re a student in high school, the parent of a student, considering applying to college soon, or the parent of a younger child working on planning ahead, the information at this seminar will be useful for all,” said Murphy. “There are a multitude of options out there to pay for higher education and it’s daunting to figure out on your own. The thought often puts people off. The goal here is to make it less daunting and help students reach their potential regardless of whether they are considering a public or private university, or another career path.”
The topics discussed at the free seminar will highlight how college financing works, the different resources available to fund a college education, how the college admissions process works and other important topics to inform students and parents about the logistics of starting college. The seminar is focused on general college information, not just the University of Illinois System.
