Rep. Murphy to Host Free Prescription Disposal Event in Pawnee

Rep. Mike Murphy is partnering with the Pawnee Police Department to host a free prescription drug drop off event on Tuesday, August 25.

(IL House Staff)

State Representative Mike Murphy (R-Springfield) is partnering with the Pawnee Police Department to host a free prescription drug drop off event on Tuesday, August 25. This event to safely dispose of unwanted or expired prescription drugs will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Pawnee Police Department located at 801 Fifth Street in Pawnee.

“Like many other events, regular prescription drug disposal events were canceled as a result of coronavirus, but that hasn’t made it any less important to safely dispose of expired prescriptions,” said Murphy. “To provide a safe and easy environment, our event will be set up as a drive-thru to allow residents to remain in their vehicles during the collection process.”

As Murphy indicated, the event is outside and allows participants to remain in your vehicle during the collection of unwanted, unused or expired medications. Drivers should follow the marked lanes when entering and exiting the parking lot.
