SPRINGFIELD – State Representatives Tim Butler (R-Springfield) and Mike Murphy (R-Springfield) are partnering with the Central Illinois Community Blood Center to sponsor a blood drive on Wednesday, August 5. To ensure the safety of blood donors in light of COVID-19, donors will need to sign-up for appointments in advance, no walk-in donations will be accepted.

“Coronavirus has caused the cancellation of traditional walk-in blood drives over the past several months,” said Butler and Murphy. “Without regular blood drives, we are facing a shortage of blood. Thankfully, the Central Illinois Community Blood Center and their experienced staff have extensive safety protocols in place to give blood and we are happy to partner with them to offer this opportunity to help counter the current shortage.”
