Springfield’s Celebrities Compete for Charity
Lung Association hosts Celebrity Bartender Night on May 9
On Thursday, May 9, local news anchors, rival coaches and business leaders are coming together to support lung health for the American Lung Association in Illinois’ Celebrity Bartender Night at Papa Frank’s in Springfield.
For the event, 14 notable residents will compete for the most tips, which will fund life-saving lung cancer research, local educational programs and advocacy efforts in the fight against lung disease. Guest bartenders include Dee Dee Gatton and Karli Bell from NewsChannel 20, Jessica Dobson and Madison O’Brien from WAND-TV, local football, basketball and soccer coaches, business leaders, and more.
“Thank you to our amazing guest bartenders for taking the time out of their busy schedule to help in our fight for clean air and healthy lungs,” said Monica Guerrant, development manager for the Lung Association. “For the Springfield community, this event is a fun way to meet some local people and network, but also to help residents who suffer from asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, lung cancer and other lung diseases.”
