Woman Pregnant With Daughter's Twins: Southern Illinois Surrogate
A southern Illinois woman offered to be her daughter's surrogate and carry twins after daughter's cancer diagnosis.

A Southern Illinois woman is gearing up to give birth to her grandchildren. The Southern Illinoisan reports Sheila Gump, 43, will soon give birth to twins, a boy and a girl, who were conceived through in vitro fertilization because her daughter, Micaela Johnson, is unable to get pregnant due to cervical cancer treatment.
According to the news report, 26-year-old Johnson was diagnosed in 2015 with small cell cervical cancer after doctors found a tumor on her cervix during a routine exam when she and her husband were trying for a second child. Johnson wound up undergoing a hysterectomy in addition to chemotherapy and radiation.
Before starting treatment, however, Johnson and her husband decided to freeze their embryos, the Southern Illinoisan reported.
