Castle-Like Mansion Goes Up For Auction This Weekend

A St. Charles mansion fit for a king will go up for auction this week. The 11,000-square foot home at 37W545 Highpoint Court will be sold on-site at an auction that gets underway at 9 a.m. on June 16. The home has been listed for $3.8 million on realtor.com and other real estate website and backs up to a 100 acre nature preserve.

Elite Auctions is handling the auction and has been holding preview tours of the home every weekend since late May. The "fairytale-inspired mansion" was also recently featured on CurbedChicago, which had this to say about the property:

The ornate home is a blend between Italian villa and a fairytale dream. The kitchen features detailed trim, a scenic painted backsplash, and decorative bricks for a faux rustic feel. The master bathroom boasts cathedral ceilings and grand columns too. Up the elaborate staircase you’ll find a bedroom designed for a princess—pink walls, a Rupunzel-esque alcove with staggered windows and a chandelier.

The home has five bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, five fireplaces, an attached guest house, a 3.5 car garage with attic storage and the 1.5 acre professionally landscaped property has views of the nature preserve. The sprawling mansion also features a mud room with laundry, theater room, exercise room, wet bar with wine cellar, billiards room that opens to a pool area, sitting area with fireplace and heated pool. The property also has a full-size outdoor sports court that is great for basketball, tennis, hockey and shuffleboard, according to the Elite Auctions website.

A final preview of the home will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Friday. Registration at Saturday's auction begins at 9 a.m. and the auction will get underway at 11 a.m. And while realtor.com and other real estate sites have placed a $3.8 million price tag on the property, no reserve will be required and there is no minimum bid listed.
