Precious Moments Owner Lists St. Charles Home ... Again

SAINT CHARLES, IL — The owners of Missouri-based Precious Moments, which sells collectible figurines, have once again listed their Illinois home. The property, known as Woodgate Estate, is located on Woodgate Road in St. Charles and has seen steep price cuts in recent years. In 2012, Jon and Missy Butcher listed the home for $7.9 million and re-listed it at that same price in 2015. It is now listed for $2.5 million.

Even that price has dropped since it was listed at $3.5 million last May. Realtor Anne Kearns of @properties says she thinks the 17,000 square-foot home will sell at its current price, according to Crain's Chicago Business. Kearns and her partner, Robin Phelps, had a soft launch with "top brokers" before listing the home.

The sprawling estate is located on 26 acres and the half-mile driveway is lined by 1,000 trees, according to realtor.com. A five-acre Japanese gardens designed by the award-winning Hoichi Kurisu will "lower your blood pressure immediately," according to the listing. Inside the home, there are six bedrooms, seven full and three half-bathrooms, an indoor pool, entertainer's kitchen with garden atrium, a wine room, executive office, conference and studio space, a theater and a home spa, according to realtor.com.

There is an outdoor pool, as well, complete with a waterfall. The property includes a 1-mile manicured walking path of stones, bridges and ponds, a meditation deck and a tennis court with a gazebo, according to the listing.

The Butchers own Missouri-based Precious Moments, and Jon Butcher's father, Sam, designed the original Precious Moment character, according to Crain's Chicago Business. In addition, the couple runs an organic coffee company and founded Lifebook, a company focusing on helping users organize and pursue life goals.
