St. Charles Aims To Annex Land For New Subdivision
Developers are planning to build 16 single-family homes on the parcel located near the northeast side of St. Charles.

ST. CHARLES, IL -- City officials are looking into annexing a parcel of unincorporated land near the northeast side of St. Charles in order to build sixteen single-family homes in a new subdivision, according to the Daily Herald. The Smith Road Estates subdivision would be located off Smith Road and would be bordered by West Chicago to the north and St. Charles to the south and east. The planning and development committee granted preliminary approval for plans for the 4.4-acre subdivision earlier this month, the newspaper reports.
The property is owned by V&M Investment and Remodeling Group, LLC, and St. Charles plans to provide city services, such as water, sewer, fire and police services, to residents in the proposed subdivision, according to the Daily Herald.
Before plans can be approved, a public hearing on the matter would need to take place and the proposed plans would go before the city council for a final vote. Developers are hoping to get work started this construction season, according to the article.
