The 10 Oldest Female Inmates in Illinois

According to the Illinois Department of Corrections’ most recent quarterly report, there are more than 47,000 people incarcerated in the state’s correctional facilities.

The aging prison population both in Illinois and around the nation is becoming a growing concern, but just how old are the state’s most senior inmates? 

As a follow up to our updated list of the 10 oldest male inmates in IDOC, we’ve compiled a list of the oldest women currently serving time, which was obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request.

Here are the 10 oldest female prisoners in the Department of Corrections system, along with some additional information about their sentences, offenses and the counties in which they were arrested.
