2 Men Accused in Tinley Park Robbery Charged After Police Chase, Crash
Two of their alleged accomplices died of injuries after their speeding getaway car crash Friday, July 1, into a South Side house.
TINLEY PARK, IL — Two remaining robbery suspects who survived a police chase and subsequent crash have now been charged and booked into Will County Jail.
Isiah Stevenson, age 24, of Matteson, and 26-year-old Michael Cokes of Alsip were each charged Tuesday with one count of robbery, said Tinley Park Police Chief Steve Neubauer.
Stevenson and Cokes were allegedly involved in a strong-arm robbery at a Tinley Park Arby's on Friday. The suspects—four in total—fled the scene via Interstate 80, eventually heading northbound into the city on the Dan Ryan Expressway, with Illinois State Police on their tail. Chicago police officers were attempting to assist in the chase when the crash occurred at 124th Street and South Union Avenue in West Pullman.
