2019 MWAGA All-Disability Open Coming to Tinley Park
Disability Open takes place at the Odyssey Golf Foundation

Tinley Park, Ill. – The Midwestern Amputee Golf Association (MWAGA) is bringing their 2019 All-Disability Open to Tinley Park. This 2-day, 36-hole event will take place at the Odyssey Golf Foundation on September 7 and 8. The tournament is open to men and women of all ages and disabilities and uses golf to promote friendship, fitness, fun and rehabilitation.
The tournament is a World Ranking Golf Event and is expected to attract golfers from all over the world to the Chicago Southland region. MWAGA represents golfers from Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota, who also will be joining the competition. By competing in sporting events with people of similar life situations, this tournament provides an environment for “sharing ideas, realizing potential and forging lifelong friendships.” Observers are also invited to come out to the golf course and cheer on participants.
MWAGA, formed in 2001, is a volunteer group consisting of individuals who have experienced the loss of a limb or limbs. MWAGA, a 501-C-3 non-profit organization, recognizes the importance of participating in friendly competition and promotes the value of golf for rehabilitation. MWAGA provides information and training to rehab centers and prosthetic facilities. Additionally, MWAGA works with the First Swing program to partner volunteer amputees with clinical therapists, allowing the use of golf in rehabilitation.

“We’re excited to be a host to this wonderful group, while supporting and promoting initiatives that allow everybody participate in sports,” said Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau President/CEO Jim Garrett.
