'85 Chicago Bears Doc Shuffles Into Local Theaters For A Night
" '85: The Greatest Team in Football History" will screen at the end of January at 4 movie theaters around Tinley Park.
As January comes to close, Chicago Bears fans will be reminded of the franchise's glory days, when winning seasons seemed to grow on trees, just ripe for the picking. And no, the reason for this bittersweet flashback isn't simply because two teams that aren't the Bears will be playing in the Super Bowl. Again.
Theaters around the country, including many in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs, will be holding a special one-night screening Jan. 29 of a documentary that looks back on the Bears' 1985 championship season. Humbly titled " '85: The Greatest Team in Football History," the sports doc chronicles how the team not only dominated opponents on the field, but also swept over the pop culture landscape of the mid-1980s thanks to a team filled with charismatic and combustible personalities, like Jim McMahon, William "The Refrigerator" Perry and coach Mike Ditka.
Oh, and there was that music video that received a little bit of air time, too.

Narrated by Matt Walsh of HBO's "Veep," " '85" features interviews with many of the players from that beloved Bears team, as well as famous fans with Chicago connections, such as actor Bill Murray and former President Barack Obama. The movie, which is directed by Scott Prestin, also includes an exclusive panel interview with team members filmed at the Pro Football Hall of Fame and moderated by Walsh, a Chicago native.
Although " '85" might not be as sweet as a championship season, it will make those Super Bowl LII parties easier to attend a few days later.

Unless the Minnesota Vikings make it to the big game. Then there's no consoling Bears fans.
