Beloved Tinley Park Man Dies at 21
Dylan Slager was well-known in the community and will be deeply missed.
The Tinley Park community is mourning the death of beloved native Dylan Slager, 21.
Slager died suddenly over the weekend, according to friends and family. Additional information on the circumstances surrounding his death was not yet available Monday.
Slager played for years in the Tinley Park Bobcats baseball association, before going on to attend Chicago Christian High School, where he excelled in basketball. His contribution to the program continued his family's legacy, as his father played there, and his grandfather coached.

"It is with heavy hearts that we remember our former teammate and friend, Dylan Slager, who passed away last night," wrote the Tinley Park Bobcats Collegiate Division on Facebook. "God Bless Dylan and his family, he will be dearly missed."
He then went on to Roosevelt University, where he was operations manager for the basketball team. He was also studying Hospitality and Tourism Management with a focus on Sports Hospitality.

A vigil in his honor was held Sunday night in Grant Park.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 27, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Graveside Service Thursday, April 28, 2016 3:00 p.m. at Orland Memorial Park Cemetery 153rd St. & West Ave., Orland Park, IL. A Service to mourn and celebrate Dylan's life will be on Thursday, April 28, at 7 p.m. at Orland Park Christian Reformed Church, 7500 W. Sycamore Dr., Orland Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Slager Memorial Fund c/o First Midwest Bank 16700 S. 80th Ave. Tinley Park, IL 60477.
