TINLEY PARK, IL — Kathleen Abbott, the vice president of business operations and technical services for the Exelon Corporation, has been named the board president of the Crisis Center for South Suburbia. Abbott was named to the post earlier in February after five years as a member of the board of directors.

“I am truly inspired by the critical role the Crisis Center plays in helping individuals on their journey from victim to survivor," Abbott, who lives in Frankfort, said. "Watching people carry the flame for this cause and then ignite that passion in others is tremendously inspiring and has proven to me that one person really can make a difference in the world.”

Pam Kostecki, the executive director of the organization that aims to provide hope and a path to freedom for victims of domestic violence and their families, said Abbott is "truly an inspiration to others."
