Dennis Hastert Loses Teacher Pension, But He's Still Collecting 2 Others

The Illinois Teachers' Retirement System says Dennis Hastert won't collect his teachers' pension. Check out which pensions he will receive.

The Illinois Teachers’ Retirement System announced on Wednesday that former U.S. House Speaker Dennis Hastert will no longer receive his teacher’s pension in accordance with state law, which prohibits educators from collecting a pension if they are convicted of a felony related to their time served as an educator.

The Teachers’ Retirement Fund’s announcement to revoke Hastert’s pension came the same day he was sentenced to 15 months in federal prison for illegally evading bank reporting requirements in connection with a hush money scheme to cover up his sexual abuse of teen boys decades ago as a wrestling coach at Yorkville High School.

Here are the public pensions Hastert will continue to receive and how much they’re worth.
