Driver Goes Off-Roading, Flips Car in Metra Lot

TINLEY PARK, IL — A 19-year-old man and his passenger were remarkably unharmed late Sunday, when their car went off the road, and flipped onto its side in a Metra parking lot in Tinley Park.

The one-car accident happened around 11:20 p.m., at 80th Avenue and 179th Street. Driver Haithem S. Al-Fawaqah, of Tinley Park, was cited for improper use of electronic communication device, improper lane use, operation of uninsured motor vehicle, and damage to village property.

Driver and passenger were examined by paramedics, and both refused transport to hospital.
