"Fall into Recycling" at Tinley Park Household Waste Collection Event Oct. 4

Tinley Park Environmental Enhancement Commission, 3S International, and local vendors unite to educate, provide community recycling service.

The Tinley Park Environmental Enhancement Commission has joined forces with electronics recycler 3S International, Ace Hardware, Battery Giant, and USAgain for its first-ever “Fall into Recycling” event. The event will feature a hazardous household waste collection, along with fun and educational activities from 9-12 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, at McCarthy Park.

“As people become more and more concerned about reducing their carbon footprint and preserving the environment, the issue of what to do with end-of-life electronics and household waste becomes crucial,” said Gina Yob, vice president of sales and marketing for 3S International. “By participating in a local educational recycling event, we can help to safely process old electronics and make a real and substantial impact in the Tinley Park community.”

Participants can bring their end-of-life electronics – such as laptops, computers, LCDs and flat screens – along with household items such as batteries, CFL light bulbs, plastic bags, and old clothes to McCarthy Park, located at 16801 S. 80th Avenue. Older CRT televisions and computer monitors are not accepted.
