False Fire Alarm At Central Middle School In Tinley Park

The Tinley Park Fire Department said the situation was cleared in minutes.

TINLEY PARK, IL — A false alarm occurred at Community Consolidated School District 146's Central Middle School in Tinley Park on Monday. A fire alarm sounded off just after 9:30 a.m.

The Tinley Park Fire Department told Patch that crews responded to the scene, but no active fire was burning. The building had been evacuated, but after minutes of confirming no danger was present, fire officials cleared the scene, and staff went back inside.

Nobody was hurt at Central Middle School, located at 18146 Oak Park Ave. The school confirmed it was a false alarm, and told Patch nobody pulled a fire alarm.

Classes were not in session. Summer school intervention for D146 begins on July 6.
