TINLEY PARK, IL — A new week means a new set of things to do here in Tinley Park. Here is a list of deals, national days — this week is food themed— and more.
Monday
National Garlic Day!
- Tinley Park Public Library is hosting an “Online Privacy Tools” event from 2 to 3 p.m. The event allows participants to get hands-on experience using tools to keep themselves and others safe online. Sign-up is required. This is a virtual event.
- The library is also hosting its "Math Zone" program for students in kindergarten and first grade from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. Students have the opportunity to have fun exploring multiple math concepts by creating, building, solving puzzles and more. This month’s theme is spring. It is a virtual event, sign up is required.
- The Civil Service Commission will hold a meeting at the Tinley Park Village Hall, 16250 Oak Park Ave., at 6 p.m. The agenda can be seen here.
Tuesday

- The Community Development, Finance, Marketing Committee meeting is canceled.
- The Village's Committee of the Whole meeting is canceled.
- The Village Board Meeting is canceled.
- The library is hosting its "Teen Baking" program for students in grades 6-12 from 7 to 8 p.m. This week, kids will learn how to make a carrot cake. Sign up is required.
Wednesday
National Tea Day!
- The Sister Cities Commission will meet at the Tinley Park Village Hall from 7-9 p.m. The Agenda can be seen here.
- The library is hosting a Preschool Stories virtual event from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Kids ages 3-5 can enjoy stories and finger plays for preschoolers and their families. Kids must be accompanied by an adult. Sign up is required.
- The library is hosting a Job Now from Brainfuse event to help with resumes and offer interview coaching.
- A virtual Draw Me a Picture event is being held by the library for kids in 2nd and 3rd grade. Participants will read a story, learn some facts about it and draw two fairy tale pictures. Sign up required is required.

- Happy Earth Day!
- The Zoning Board of Appeals meeting is canceled.
- A virtual "Movie Music Romance" event is being held by the library. Sign up is required.
- The Tinley Park Park District is hosting its virtual "Ask An Astronomer" event. It will take place from 4-5 p.m. and this session participants will be learning about the Earth, Sun and Moon.
Friday
National Cherry Cheese Cake Day!
- The library will host its“Teen Drawing: Animals” event. The event is for students in grades 6-12 and will take place virtually from 7 to 8 p.m. Learn more here.
