Firefighters Rescue 2 From Apartment Fire In Tinley Park
A four-unit apartment building is now uninhabitable, displacing four families, after a fire on the first floor sparked a rescue mission.
TINLEY PARK, IL — The Tinley Park Fire Department responded to a fire in the 6500 block of West 173rd Place on Tuesday morning, according to the village.
Officials said at the scene, firefighters located the fire on the first floor of a two-story, four-unit apartment building. Residents from the apartment building were outside and uninjured upon arrival, according to the village.
Crews located two individuals on the second floor and rescued them from their unit on ground ladders from a bedroom window, officials said. Medics treated and released the two at the scene, according to the village.

The Tinley Park Fire Department said they called a MABAS box alarm, and the fire was under control by 11:30 a.m. The Oak Forest and Orland Park fire departments assisted Tinley Park firefighters at the scene, according to the village.
The village said a fire investigation is under way. The building is now uninhabitable, displacing four families, officials said.
