Future D146 School Board Meetings To Be Live Streamed

The District 146 Board of Education will stream all regular meetings going forward.

At its regular June meeting, the District 146 Board of Education decided that all future regular Board meetings will be streamed live online and housed on the District’s YouTube channel.

“The Board of Education believes in being as transparent as possible to our families and community,” said Dr. Jeff Stawick, Superintendent. “Although we still prefer to have in-person attendees, it isn’t always feasible for our families. Streaming will make it easier for more people to watch the Board of Education at work.”

The Board will set up a Records Retention Policy to assure the recordings are handled appropriately based on Freedom of Information Act laws.

During the meeting the Board also heard updates from the Superintendent and Administration on changes to the Student Online Personal Protection Act (SOPPA), Summer School, and upcoming revisions to the Student/Parent Handbook.

Stawick also informed the Board that he is still awaiting updated information from the Illinois State Board of Education regarding COVID-19 guidelines for the 2021-2022 school year. The District is planning how to best use Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds for the upcoming year.
