HOMEWOOD-FLOSSMOOR, IL — Multiple thefts occurred in the Homewood and Flossmoor-area. The following incidents were reported:
Aug. 29
A 30-year-old man packed $2,456.91 worth of merchandise into a suitcase from Target in Homewood, 17605 S Halsted St. Jeremiah Nesbitt, Of Sauk Village, took the items without paying, and left the store through an emergency exit, police said.

Police said that Nesbitt did not listen to police commands and was taken into custody. Nesbitt was charged with felony retail theft.

Toni Lee, 61, of Country Club Hills, is accused of hiding items and passing by the last point of purchase without paying.
The items were valued at $161.96 dollars, and were allegedly taken from Walmart at 17550 S. Halsted St. Police also said Lee provided a false name and birthdate.
Aug. 26
Police said Dennis Guider, 26, of Ford Heights, tried to cash a fraudulent check at the Homewood Currency Exchange, 807 Maple Ave. An employee discovered that Guider was not verified to cash from the business.
According to police, Guider fled on foot after resisting arrest.
